NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom caught up with Rahn Tobler, crew chief for Ron Capps, after his big Funny car win last weekend at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte, as well as Bobby Lagana, co-crew chief for Top Fuel winner Steve Torrence. 

Indianapolis Bureau Chief John Kernan joined Lewis Bloom via Skype in the Wally Parks NHRA Studio delivered by Papa John’s to recap last weekend’s NHRA Four-Wide Nationals and look ahead to this weekend’s Lucas Oil NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway.

Returning to the site of his first career NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series win, Del Worsham hopes it provides a spark to a Funny Car season that has not yet gotten on track.

It might be Scott Palmer’s most aggressive season to date in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series in terms of participation, but a controlled approach is currently the Top Fuel veteran’s main objective early in the 2017 season.

The 2017 rookie class continued its solid early season with Jonnie Lindberg (Funny Car), Tanner Gray (Pro Stock), and Joey Gladstone (Pro Stock Motorcycle) all making it out of the first round of competition at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals.

Shawn Cowie and Johan Lindberg raced to victory at this weekend’s NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway. John Labbous Jr.'s Super-class double also highlighted the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series action at the event.
