Six Lucas Oil Series racers power through to wins in Rockingham

In addition to the Mission Foods Drag Racing Series action at the NHRA Nationals at The Rock, six champions were also crowned in Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series competition at Rockingham Dragway.

Joe Carnasciale won his seventh race of the season and moved a step closer to a possible Comp world title after downing Monty Bogan in the final round with a (-.584) 8.876.

The Super Stock final featured a pair of world champs with Bryan Worner collecting his ninth career victory after a foul start by Dan Fletcher

Top Dragster winner Brad Plourd came up one round short in his bid for a double after Cody Phillips stepped up in a big way with a perfect .000 light in the Stock final. Phillips sealed his second career win with a 10.351 on his 10.31 dial.

Hayden James was right on the money in the Super Comp final with a .003 light and an 8.920 to stop Mike Robilotto, who broke out with an 8.881.

Tim Powell swept both North Carolina NHRA events this season with a second title in Super Gas. Powell, a solid Top 10 contender, defeated Jock Lisenby in the final, 9.957 to a 9.854 breakout.

Brad Plourd joined an exclusive group of racers to win in seven different categories when he lit the win light in the final of Right Trailers Top Dragster. In the final, Plourd defeated Steve Furr, who fouled by a thousandth.
