The “original” Firebird Raceway outside Eagle, Idaho, recently modernized its track scoreboards, another step in the facility’s ongoing commitment to improving the racer and spectator experience while preserving the heritage of one of the Northwest’s historic drag racing venues.

The track offered special thanks to Larry Crispe of Bandimere Speedway and Bob Brockmeyer of Compulink Timing for their assistance and support in bringing the scoreboard project to completion. Their efforts helped ensure the installation moved forward smoothly and in time for the start of the 2026 season.

“We’re grateful for the help and expertise Larry, Bob, and others provided throughout this expansive project,” said Firebird facility manager John New. “The upgraded scoreboards will be a meaningful improvement for all our guests every season, and another step in continuing to enhance the Firebird experience.”

The New family in western Idaho continues to enhance the Firebird racing venue year after year and looks forward to celebrating 75 years of the NHRA as Firebird enters its 58th season.
