Taylor's 51st career win hightlights Sportsman action at NHRA Arizona Nationals

In addition to the thrilling NHRA MIssion Foods Drag Racing Series and Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series action, six NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series race champions were also crowned at the NHRA Arizona Nationals.
Jeff Taylor earned the 51st win of his long and prosperous career when he drove the J&A Service dragster past Paul Mitsos in the Comp final. Mitsos took the lead with a great .009 light but had to lift after his A/AA Camaro got out of shape.
A pair of Division 7 heavyweights squared off in the Super Stock final with past world champ Ryan McClanahan getting the best of Leo Glasbrenner. McClanahan ran right on his 8.28 dial, while Glasbrenner broke out by seven-thousandths.
Justin Lamb was just about flawless in the Stock final with a .009 light and a 9.618 on his 9.61 dial against fellow world champion Jody Lang, who broke out by three-hundredths.
Chad Webber, the brother of Top Dragster champ Cody Webber, scored in Super Comp when he topped Steve Williams in the final. Webber won on a holeshot, 8.944 to 8.927.
Roger Kato grabbed a lead at the start in the Super Gas final against Jerry Denton and made it hold up with a 9.932 for the win to Denton’s 9.826 breakout.
Nearly two decades after his last win, Mike Fuqua went the distance in Right Trailers Top Dragster. Fuqua drove Anthony Bertozzi’s dragster to a 7.237 on his 7.21 dial to beat Mallory Reis in the final.
