Teams focusing on Pep Boys Callout at Dodge Power Brokers U.S. Nationals
The Pep Boys NHRA All-Star Callout will take center stage at the Dodge Power Brokers NHRA U.S. Nationals over Labor Day weekend highlighted by the completion of the Top Fuel Callout, which began earlier this season at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals, and the entire Funny Car Callout competition.
The Top Fuel Callout at the Gatornationals was halted after one round due to weather with Brittany Force, Steve Torrence, Mike Salinas, and Justin Ashley all advancing to the semifinals. Force will have the first callout against any of the other survivors. [Top Fuel Callout first-round recap]
The Funny Car Callout will feature the top eight points earners based on qualifying from last year's U.S. Nationals through this year's Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals in Brainerd, Minn. The No. 1 points earner can call out any of the fellow competitors. No. 2, if not chosen by No. 1, will then make the next callout and so on until the four pairings for the first round are determined.
