New issue of NHRA National Dragster highlights Richmond, Sportsman racing
The new issue of NHRA National Dragster magazine, spotlighting coverage from the Virginia NHRA Nationals and packed with other features on NHRA Sportsman racers, is available online and in the mail to NHRA Members around the world.
In addition to coverage of the pivotal event at Virginia Motorsports Park, where teammate cover subjects Brittany Force and Robert Hight doubled up for John Force Racing, and coverage from seven NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events across the country, the issue is crammed with feature stories highlighting some of NHRA's best, including the Division 4 Super Stock and Stock dynamos that are the Emmons family and Kevin Helms, the former world champion driver who now runs the Don Schumacher Racing-fielded Factory Stock Dodges, as well as a retrospect on Sportsman legend Joe Covert.
We've also got a tribute to the late Dave McClelland, the longtime voice of the NHRA, an interview with motorcycle record holder Larry "Spiderman" McBride, a look at the tremendous careers of 100-year-old hot-rodding icons Ed Iskenderian and Alex Xydias, and feature on Jr. Drag Racing League standout Tyler Mocny.
Columns? we've got columns. National Dragster Editor Phil Burgess writes about how the NHRA Safety Safari presented by Simpson saved the day in Richmond; Super Gas world champ Luke Bogacki offers Part 2 of his look at racing responsibility; NHRA announcer Alan Reinhart talks about a long and winding road trip; and tech editor Evan Smith takes a deep dive into what to look for in an aftermarket engine block.
