Tickets now on sale for 2022 Menards NHRA Nationals in Topeka
Tickets are on sale today for the Menards NHRA Nationals presented by PetArmor, which takes place Aug. 12-14 at Heartland Motorsports Park as part of the upcoming 2022 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season.
The race is the 14th of 22 events during the 2022 campaign, and the stop in Topeka will be broadcast on FOX Sports 1 (FS1), including live action from eliminations. Topeka’s “House of Speed” has delivered nonstop excitement and incredible racing for more than three decades, with the 2022 race marking the 33rd NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series event to take place at Heartland Motorsports Park.
“Heartland Motorsports Park has featured plenty of amazing moments in NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series history, and we’re thrilled to return to the outstanding facility to put on another memorable event in 2022,” said Chris Payne, owner of Heartland Motorsports Park. “The track has always been regarded as one of the fastest on the NHRA circuit, and the drivers love putting on a show in front of the passionate fans in the Midwest.”
Brittany Force (Top Fuel), John Force (Funny Car), and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock) won the event in 2021. Pro Stock Motorcycle will also compete at the race in Topeka, marking the first race at the facility for the two-wheeled category in 25 years. Three-time world champ Angelle Sampey won the race in 1997 and is the only active rider in Pro Stock Motorcycle with a win at the facility. The Menards NHRA Nationals presented by PetArmor will also feature standouts in the NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series.
There’s been plenty of history made at Heartland Motorsports Park over the past 30-plus years, and last season, the Force family made more at the facility, with Brittany and John both winning in the nitro categories. It was the first time the father and daughter shared the winner’s circle together and also marked the first time a father-daughter duo won on the same weekend in NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series history. It also gave John Force his 10th career win in Topeka, the most of any driver.
In Pro Stock, reigning world champ Greg Anderson leads all active drivers with four wins, but it was NHRA Rookie of the Year Dallas Glenn who ruled the weekend in 2021, posting a perfect .000 reaction time in the final round to win the race. It was just the sixth time in Pro Stock history a perfect reaction time was recorded in the final round.
With its August date, the Menards NHRA Nationals presented by PetArmor also comes at a critical time during the regular season, as only two events follow it before the Countdown to the Championship, meaning drivers will be pushing for a key late-summer victory. The race will also count toward the Funny Car All-Star Shootout that takes place just a few weeks later at the U.S. Nationals in Indy.
All children 12 and under will be admitted free in the general-admission area with a paid adult. To purchase tickets, CLICK HERE.
