ScottRods AA/Gassers will make exhibition runs at Summit Nationals in Norwalk
The ScottRods AA/Gasser series will be making a special appearance at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk. The ScottRods group will be a big part of the festivities at Summit Motorsports Park both on and off the track with exhibition runs and a static pit-area display.
The ScottRods AA/Gasser series is a nostalgia drag racing match race organization presented by www.scottrodscustom.com. The eight racers making exhibition runs during the Noralk event will include Frankie Allen and his Trick or Treat ’33 Willys, Ed Beaumont’s Orange Peel ’63 Corvette, Mark Benjamin’s ’33 Willys, Bob Cook’s Crazy Grandpa ’57 Corvette, Mike Kalinowski’s Unfinished Business ’48 Austin, Ed Kasicki’s Phenomenon ’33 Willys, Ray Kasicki’s Violator ’33 Willys, and Al Lynch’s ’67 Nova.
Each of the ScottRods Gassers is supercharged and features the long, smokey burnouts and wheelstanding action that fans grew to love during the original gasser era of the 1960s. Their period-correct styling extends from the cars to the pit crews, including the popular backup girls who help each driver during the staging process.
The ScottRods Association makes regular appearances at events across the country, including the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green, Ky. All eight racers are scheduled to make one run each on Friday and Saturday. Their runs Friday will be part of an extravaganza that also includes Nostalgia Pro Stock, Bob Motz's Kenworth jet truck, and a massive fireworks display.
