NHRA, FOX see positive television numbers following season kickoff in Gainesville
With a successful kickoff to the 2021 NHRA season, NHRA and FOX are celebrating a positive showing of the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals.
The start of the NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series season had great racing action amongst the stars of the NHRA. During the final eliminations, nearly 2 million fans were glued to their TVs, tuned in to see which driver would hoist the first NHRA Wally of the year.
The Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals aired on the FOX broadcast network, delivering the best performance for an NHRA event since 2017 and NHRA’s third-best performing event ever.
“We were thrilled with the success of the television program at the Gatornationals,” said Steve Reintjes, NHRA vice president of broadcasting. “We saw a 27% increase in viewership from last year, and we are confident our viewership will continue to grow. The NHRA and FOX partnership allows us to deliver high-quality racing coverage to our loyal NHRA fans.”
The NHRA season continues at the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals, April 16-18.
