GRAND PRIZE Two-day Super class at Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School.

Racers who participate in NHRA’s Be A Winner, Be A Member program will have a great incentive in 2021. The grand-prize winner will receive a two-day Super Class* from Frank Hawley’s Drag Racing School valued at $2,000. NHRA National Dragster will provide an additional $500 spending money, bringing the total prize value to $2,500.

In 2021, the Super Class is conducted at Gainesville Raceway year-round as well as select dates at Tucson Dragway in Tucson, Ariz.; Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, Calif.; The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas; Houston Raceway in Houston; Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colo.; Woodburn Dragstrip in Woodburn, Ore.; National Trail Raceway in Hebron, Ohio; and Maple Grove Raceway in Reading.

The course is two days in length and is a combination of classroom instruction and six runs in a Super Comp Dragster or Super Gas Firebird. The school provides all the driving equipment. It is possible for a student to earn their NHRA competition license during this class. The two-day course is taught personally by two-time NHRA Funny Car world champion Frank Hawley and includes Hawley’s lectures on “Personal Performance Development.” These classroom sessions combine psychology and physiology, teaching drivers how mind and body work together. Students learn how to improve focus, block out distractions, and practice more effectively away from the track. They learn how to think, act, and perform like a champion.

All Be A Winner, Be A Member entries received by Oct. 31 will be eligible for the grand-prize drawing, which will be held Nov. 11. The winner will be notified by phone.

Hawley has trained thousands, from beginners to champions, looking for an edge.
