Following the recent cancellation of the Northeast Division/East Region event at Atco Dragway, NHRA has announced adjustments to its Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series schedule.

Virginia Motorsports Park will now host a doubleheader event, Sept. 23-26, adding a Division 1 event to the previously scheduled East Region event that was set for Sept. 24-26.

The new divisional event, which begins Sept. 23, will play host to Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, Super Street, Top Dragster, and Top Sportsman competitors, all of whom also can compete at the regional event. Competitors in Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car will compete on Friday and Saturday as originally scheduled. Jr Dragster racing will be contested at the second event (Saturday/Sunday) only. A full schedule will be posted on NHRADiv1.com.

Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car racers who had planned to compete in Atco will now race instead at Cecil County Dragway Oct. 8-10, as that event has now been changed from a divisional to a regional event.
