NHRA career opportunity: Southeast Division Services Coordinator
NHRA’s Southeast Division is currently seeking candidates for its Division Services Coordinator, seeking applicants with a team-player attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills to assist in a myriad of responsibilities for the division serving NHRA member tracks in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Puerto Rico, and Tennessee.
The position, which will be located in the Greater Atlanta, Ga., area, will run under the supervision of Division Director Cody Savage. The Division Services Coordinator Is responsible for assisting in processing all of the division's new and renewal race licenses; assisting racers in navigating the rulebook in regard to technical questions or directing them to NHRA Tech Support; and coordinating the divisional events for all series and track operator meetings and the annual awards banquet.
In addition, Division Services Coordinator will assist in budget planning and maintenance in regard to events and general division and accounting procedures for the division; maintaining open communications and correspondence with all Division member tracks regarding license procedures, program outlines, Division website updates, articles, and general inquires; and maintaining and transporting the Division Safety truck and trailer from event to event (CDL required).
Additional responsibilities include assisting member tracks and division office in better promotion of individual events and increasing overall awareness of NHRA benefits to both racers and the community; servicing and selling divisional promotional programs and sponsorships; and expanding programs into areas or categories where they do not currently exist. There will be some administrative and clerical responsibilities.
The qualified candidate will have a minimum of five-plus years of related experience. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. The candidate must have the ability to work independently with minimum supervision; be a strong communicator and proven decision-maker with the proven ability to maintain a calm professional demeanor during crisis situations. A CDL license and medical card are required. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. A team-player attitude and excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
This position requires a minimum of 50% travel and requires the candidate to be able to maintain non-traditional hours, as needed, to include evenings and weekend hours. “Days off” will remain flexible given the division race schedule each week.
