NHRA - National Hot Rod Association

Sacramento Raceway was the place for NHRA’s 2020 final Heritage Series races for Junior Fuel, 7.0 Pro, and Group 2 competitors. With separate points races both Saturday and Sunday, some shuffling of the pack was expected to happen However, the best way to sum up the weekend was that the points leaders held firm and dominated the three-day event. In nine of the ten classes contested, point leaders were able to fend off their challengers.

Only Mike Rabener in C/Gas was able to claw his way up from a fourth-place start Friday to the championship winner’s circle Sunday afternoon. The old clique that “when the going gets tough, the tough get going” certainly applies to Rabener who won both Saturday and Sunday’s races. Rabener’s magic must have rubbed off on Brad Woodard in Junior Fuel and Tom Fowler in A/Gas as they also collected a cache of three Wallys, too.
