With the uncertainty poised by incoming Hurricane Laura, NHRA officials are adjusting the event schedule for the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Alamo City Motorplex.

NHRA officials and Alamo Motorplex staff are following the current storm progress of the storm and have updated the schedule for the event. If an effort to give everyone living in the storm impacted zones more time to deal with travel delays, storm damage, and other unforeseen circumstances, the event schedule has been shifted back by one day.

Thursday’s test and tune will move to Friday at the same times. Saturday and Sunday have a few options that will be monitored, and decisions made based on the weather conditions and car counts. The options will include two time trials/qualifiers Saturday and running the event to completion, or three time trials/qualifiers on Sunday and running the eliminations.

The gates will still be open and ready to accept racers Wednesday afternoon. There is some road construction on the entrance road to be aware of. Stacking will take place in the spectator lot after hours and the pit gate will be opened in the morning. Competitors are asked not to stack up or park overnight at the pit gate please.

As this fluid situation continues to evolve, several options will be kept on the table. NHRA officials and Alamo Motorplex staff will continue to monitor the situation and proceed with the best options for everyone that can make it to the event.
