ProTorque and Bonifante Friction team up ahead of 2020 NHRA season
ProTorque and Bonifante Friction partnered to create a powerhouse team with a lasting impact in the NHRA Drag Racing community.
Both companies factor heavily in the bellhousing department, making the decision for ProTorque’s Joe Rivera and Bonifante Friction’s Rob Bonifante to join forces an easy one. Rivera will operate his torque converter business out of Bonifante’s state of the art facility in Philadelphia, easing the flow of technology and information between the two companies.
“Boninfante handles more horsepower than anyone else, and it is a true honor to be working with a company of this caliber,” said Rivera. “The team at Boninfante is absolutely brilliant and we’re excited to start rolling. Get ready for an all new level of performance with ProTorque and expect to see many new products from this collaboration that will be born from Top Fuel technology. This is going to be epic!”
Boninfante Friction has been involved in drag racing since 1988. Since then, the company has grown to support every single Top Fuel and Funny Car team in NHRA competition and has won every professional NHRA championship since 1998.
Boninfante handles nearly all of its machining and manufacturing completely in-house to maximize quality control. ProTorque will develop more innovative products, produce them more quickly and help racers win more races by having access to Boninfante’s state of the art, world-class machining technology.
The collaboration between ProTorque’s Rivera and Boninfante is nothing new, as the two men worked in support of one another for more than 10 years. This signifies a new era for this brain trust of power transfer as the two men work together side by side to create better products for racers around the world.
