Watch Austin Prock accept Auto Club Road to the Future Award
Austin Prock was named the top rookie in 2019 in the Mello Yello NHRA Drag Racing Series following a victory at the NHRA Northwest Nationals and leading Top Fuel in reaction time average. The driver of the Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist Top Fuel dragster averaged a reaction time of .0562, nearly two-hundredths of a second quicker than the class average. He took his dragster to a round-win percentage of 48.9 and finished in eighth place in his rookie season after qualifying for the NHRA Countdown to the Championship.
Prock will return to the seat of his John Force Racing Top Fueler in 2020 with Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Twist as his primary sponsor. He reached five semifinals, including twice in the playoffs, and moved past the first round in more than half of the events he contested in. He became the sixth John Force Racing driver to earn the Auto Club Road to the Future Award, joining Tony Pedregon (1996), Robert Hight (2005), Ashley Force-Hood (2007), Mike Neff (2008), Courtney Force (2012) and Brittany Force (2013).
