Top Fuel rookie Austin Prock not afraid to show his personality at NHRA Arizona Nationals
John Force Racing Top Fuel rookie Austin Prock has shown he's just as good behind a microphone as he is behind the wheel of his Montana Brand / Rocky Mountain Drill Bit Top Fuel Dragster. In an example of some good-natured ribbing, he started off his career at the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals by telling defending Top Fuel champ Steve Torrence, "I'm coming for you" at the top end after "leaving" on him in their qualifying heat, and that continued at the Magic Dry Absorbent NHRA Arizona Nationals over the weekend.
Prock defeated Clay Millican with a combination of a solid reaction time and quicker elapsed time, booking a meeting with Antron Brown in the second round. That also got him an interview with top-end reporter Hannah Rickards. You can watch it for yourself above.
Prock borrows Millican's "stomp on that loud pedal" catchphrase to reference his quicker reaction time (and elapsed time) for ... well, you can see for yourself in the video embedded above. Then there's the below video, where Brown defeated Prock after both went through wild rides. The three-time champ can speak for himself.
After talking about his pass, Brown says, "I don't know what happened, [Prock] was a little late staging the car. Next time this old man is going to have to teach the rookie a little respect and have him go in first."
