Road Trip to the 2019 Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals!
NHRA Drag Racing is in a Renaissance. Never before have we seen this level of performance on the track, and never before have we seen street cars that have been so heavily influenced by the quarter-mile.
So, to kick off the 2019 NHRA Western Swing right, we are road tripping to where it all begins — the 2019 Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals Presented By Pennzoil in Denver. And we’re taking you all with us in one of Dodge’s new 2019 Challenger R/T Scat Pack 1320 street cars.
This is the car we had Jack Beckman test at Irwindale Dragstrip, the car that comes factory equipped with a 485-hp Hemi and a transbrake-equipped eight-speed TorqueFlite transmission, and it’s also the car that comes with an NHRA membership when you buy one.
We began our trip at NHRA’s headquarters in Glendora, Calif., right on Route 66. We are headed northeast on Interstate 15 through Las Vegas and St. George, Utah. We will then head east on interstate 70 across the Colorado Plateau on our way to climbing the Rockies.
For those of you already headed to the Mile-Highs, keep an eye out for this F8 Green Dodge Challenger 1320 on the road. We’ll be looking for NHRA fans and drag racers along the way to hand out NHRA swag to and talk cars with. We’re sure to have some great stories to share with you when we get to the 2019 Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals. If you don’t have your tickets yet, you can order them online or buy them at the gate.
Race fans in attendance and NHRA.tv subscribers will want to be sure to check out the celebrity race using Dodge Challengers scheduled to run Friday, July 19, at 4, 6, and 7:55 p.m. (MDT).
