NHRA preseason testing Saturday recap: Brittany Force and John Force wrap up testing with their best runs
Brittany Force and new crew chief David Grubnic can leave Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park and NHRA preseason testing with a little extra confidence after making the best pass of Top Fuel Saturday. The best time of the weekend still belongs to Steve Torrence and crew chiefs Richard Hogan and Bobby Lagana, but the 3.700-second hit came just .02 second behind the 2018 champ.
Clay Millican got back into the swing of things with a 3.81-second pass. That was a great sign for a team that struggled during most of testing and caused a mild, and well-earned, celebration on the starting line.
Her father, John Force, laid down a 3.864 pass with new crew chief Brian Corradi for his best hit of the weekend. That didn't better overall low runner (and teammate) Robert Hight, but it's a good start for Force as he chases win No. 150. J.R. Todd and Shawn Langdon also impressed during testing, making runs in the 3.80s.
Jonnie Lindberg made his best pass of the weekend in his final run. The Swedish driver hit a 3.99 in a planned shutoff which elicited fist pumps and a cheer from Bobby Lagana, who appeared to be helping tuner Jim Head on the last two passes of the weekend.
Erica Enders made a shakedown pass as the only Pro Stock car on the property Saturday, while Jianna Salinas continued to make laps on her Pro Stock Motorcycle.
