Houston-based personalities to participate in Pennzoil Charity Challenge

Local athletes, celebrities, and media personalities will take to the track on Friday of the Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals presented by Pennzoil to take part in the Pennzoil Charity Challenge to raise money for their favorite charities.

The Pennzoil Charity Challenge competition will be held on Friday, April 12 as part of the Mopar Express Lane NHRA SpringNationals presented by Pennzoil. 

Local athletes, celebrities, and media personalities will take to the track on Friday to see if they have what it takes to win in the world of drag racing. By participating in the Pennzoil Charity Challenge, this group will raise money for their favorite charities. The total purse is $30,000 to be divided among the competitors based on where they finish. Participants include: 

-    Dan Pastorini, former NFL football player, driving for Be An Angel
-    Ryan Chase, host of What’s Up In H-Town on KRBE, driving for Special Olympics
-    Jason Cage, host of The Jason Cage Show on Mix 96.5, driving for American Cancer Society
-    Bob Slovak, sportscaster for ABC13 Eyewitness News Sports Team, driving for MD Anderson Cancer Center
-    Melissa Wilson, news anchor and health reporter for FOX 26, driving for Children At Risk
-    Rod Ryan, host of The Rod Ryan Show on 94.5 The Buzz, driving for Rod Ryan Show Cares Foundation
-    Brandon Capetillo, Baytown Mayor, driving for VFW Post #912
-    Emily Reeves, host of Flying Sparks Garage and Live, Love ,Wrench on MotorTrend, racing for Houston Children’s Charity
