Tommy DeLago to work with Greg Carrillo at Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals
Greg Carrillo is set to race at his home track for the second year in a row, and this year he'll have a little extra help in the form of veteran tuner Tommy DeLago. The tuner, who most recently turned the knobs at Kalitta Motorsports on Shawn Langdon's Funny Car, also won a world championship while with Matt Hagan's Funny Car team in 2012.
This is Carrillo's second time out in 2018. He made his season debut in Phoenix and advanced to the semifinals before eventually falling to Scott Palmer. Carrillo defeated Tony Schumacher and Antron Brown at the NHRA Arizona Nationals for his first and second round victories and returns to Denver looking for more of the same with DeLago in tow.
DeLago got his start in drag racing by working on a Mopar-backed dragster in the 1990s, driven by Tommy Johnson Jr, so this is not his first foray into Top Fuelers. The Dodge Mile-High NHRA Nationals get started on July 20 at Bandimere Speedway.
