Jim Dunn Racing brings Mooneyes back to the Winternationals
Jim Dunn Racing and Mooneyes are both a part of Southern California drag racing history, teamed by use of equipment or sponsorship for more than 50 years. The team will be bringing out a new version of the white and black Moon Equipped Funny Car during the NHRA Lucas Oil Winternationals presented by ProtecttheHarvest.com this weekend at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.
Jim Dunn Racing team manager Jon Dunn has his team ready for the 2018 season.
“It’s always great to start the season at your home track with a partner like Mooneyes,” he said. “To see the folks from Moon Equipment and ‘Big Jim Dunn’ is always fun for the fans. Our team has a lot of new racing components to go along with several new sponsor partners including Minties Pet Treats, Grenades Gum, and KGC Construction, so we are anxious to get on the track.”
In addition to new sponsors, the team and driver Jim Campbell will also be supported by long standing West Coast partners Koppl pipeline fitters, Murray Company mechanical contractors, and season long major associate and multiple race primary sponsor, Oberto Beef Jerky.
Moon Equipment, headquartered in nearby Santa Fe Springs, Calif., is a destination itself for nostalgia race enthusiasts and hot rodders alike and offers daily showroom tours.
