Tasca Racing looking for big win at hometown track with backing from PPG
Tasca Racing and driver Bob Tasca III will be looking for a major win at the NHRA New England Nationals at New England Dragway, Tasca’s home track, in Epping, N.H. For this event, Tasca’s Ford Shelby Mustang will be sponsored by PPG.
“My family has used PPG products for years, and we have a great relationship with the company,” said Tasca. “PPG has always seen value in NHRA Drag Racing and the company gets the most out of each event. In fact, if it wasn’t for PPG’s support, we wouldn’t be here. It’s exciting to run PPG’s colors and to host more than 300 of its customers and guests during this special homecoming race weekend.”
Confidence is running high for Tasca Racing this season.
“In just three races, we’re running as strong as my team has ever run,” said Tasca. “We have a consistent nitro-burning car that hits 300 mph and gets stronger with every pass. We just came out of Topeka with career-best runs and a huge first-round win against John Force. That’s something. We believe we’ve got as good a chance as anyone to win this weekend.”
According to Tasca, the team’s part-time racing schedule isn’t holding them back.
“A part-time schedule can make it difficult to catch your stride, but things have really come together for our team. I’m very fortunate to have an amazing group of guys working on our car. It’s critical to make sure the car is assembled correctly and running its best. My team is made up of experienced racers, and that’s what makes Tasca Racing a contender in every event we enter. We’re in a great place coming into the New England race.”
Tasca competes in races around the country, but bringing it back East to New Hampshire—and closer to home—is clearly meaningful for him.
“I love racing in New England,” he said. “This is home; to be able to have so many friends and family experience the excitement of NHRA drag racing in their backyard makes for a fun weekend. I have so many memories racing at this track, and I look forward to making a few more this weekend.”
