NHRA Motorsports Museum Hot Rod Reunions return for 2017
The Holley National Hot Rod Reunion presented by AAA Insurance and California Hot Rod Reunion presented by Automobile Club of Southern California are returning to their traditional formats for the 2017 season.
The Hot Rod Reunions were started by Wally Parks and NHRA as a means of raising funds to open and support a museum with programs celebrating the heritage of drag racing and American hot rodding. Parks was the founder of the NHRA, whose mission was a “Dedication to Safety,” a commitment NHRA and the museum continue to share.
For 2017, both the Holley National Hot Rod Reunion and the California Hot Rod Reunion will return to a format familiar to our loyal participants and fans. Most importantly, the popular Cacklefest, which originated with the 2000 California Hot Rod Reunion, will continue to feature the crowd-pleasing push starts and display of dozens of nitro-burning machines of the past. Adding to the excitement, the California event will include the popular exhibition push starts throughout each day that were part of the 25th Anniversary program. For those who restore and maintain these magnificent machines, the Reunions will also be allocating more pit space to allow an even greater number of spectators to see and hear the cars up close as they are readied for their Cacklefest appearances.
