Top Fuel racer Terry McMillen and defending NHRA Traxxas Nitro Shootout Funny Car champion Courtney Force are the winners of the fan vote of Traxxas Nitro Shootout that concluded Tuesday.

McMillen’s fan base granted him 55 percent of the Top Fuel votes, and Force received 50 percent in Funny Car to earn an advantage to win the final starting positions in their respective categories in the Traxxas Nitro Shootout, which will be decided by a lottery drawing. The winners of the Traxxas Nitro Shootout will be awarded $100,000 each.

McMillen and Force will wait alongside their competitors to see which ball emerges during the official Nitro Shootout lottery drawings, held at noon on Wednesday, Aug. 30, during the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals press conference at Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis.

Each racer will get to add as many lottery balls in the machine as their fan vote percentage indicates. One drawing will be held for the Top Fuel drivers, and another drawing will be held for the Funny Car racers.

The Top Fuel fan votes panned out with Scott Palmer earning the second most votes with 32 percent. (Top Fuel competitor Troy Coughlin Jr., who resigned from his Top Fuel driving duties earlier this week, received 13 percent of the votes, but because he will not compete, his lottery balls will not be included).

In Funny Car, Tim Wilkerson trailed Force with 27 percent of the votes, followed by former world champions Del Worsham and Cruz Pedregon and Jim Campbell.

The Funny Car lottery winner will earn a first-round matchup with top seed Ron Capps in the Traxxas Nitro Shootout for Funny Car. The winning Top Fuel driver will be paired with top seed Antron Brown in the first round of the Shootout for Top Fuel.

The Traxxas Nitro Shootout for Top Fuel will take place Saturday, Sept. 2. The Traxxas Nitro Shootout for Funny Car will be held Sunday, Sept. 3, and both will be featured in the FOX and FOX Sports 1 broadcast of the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals.

Tickets are available for the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals by calling 800-884-NHRA (6472), or online at www.NHRA.com/tickets.
