Champions crowned at Jr. Western Conference Finals
Nolan Baker (age 6-9), Gage Wilson (10), Jonathan McClain (11), Graeme Rufenacht (12), Hayley Cline (13), Caylyn Cunningham (14), Monica Roberts (15), Colin Broermann (16-17), and Osage Tulsa Raceway Park (team) were the big winners at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals presented by Huddleston Performance, which wrapped up on Friday. It was the second Western Conference Finals victory for Cline, who also won the event in 2012. All other champions, including the team, were first-time winners of the first of two national events in the NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League. Click here for complete results.
THURSDAY
After a couple of time runs yesterday, Jr. racers are back on track at Osage Tulsa Raceway Park for the second day of action at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals presented by Huddleston Performance. Today’s schedule features two more time runs ahead of eliminations tomorrow. Following today’s on-track activities, racers and their families will be treated to a cookout, the special-awards ceremony, and a concert from former Jr. racer PJ North.

TULSA, Okla. – Osage Tulsa Raceway Park will host the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals presented by Huddleston Performance June 14-16. NHRA Summit Racing Jr. Drag Racing League racers from across the western United States, ages 6 to 17 years, will compete for team and individual honors and a share of the event purse.
Teams of drivers in eight age categories — 6-9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 16,17 — drive half-scale dragsters powered by five-horsepower engines that may reach speeds up to 85 mph. They can cover the eighth-mile track in as quick as 7.90 seconds. Also in competition is the Jr. Comp class for racers 16 years and older, which run as fast as 110 mph in 6.90 seconds.
In addition to vying for titles in the individual age groups, racers will also earn points towards an overall team championship. Each of the 10 members of the team champion at the NHRA Jr. Drag Racing Western Conference Finals will receive the coveted NHRA Wally trophy. Individual champions will each earn $1,500, along with a NHRA Wally trophy and champion’s jacket.
Gates at Tulsa Raceway Park open at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Each age category will get two time trials on Wednesday, beginning at 8 a.m., followed by additional time trials on Thursday, and final eliminations on Friday morning, beginning at 9 a.m.
