Dayton Superior will back Nostalgia Funny Car champ Krabill in A/Fuel Dragster
Dayton Superior Corporation will sponsor an A-Fuel dragster driven by Kris Krabill at select races in the 2017 NHRA Lucas Oil Series. The Dayton Superior A/Fuel Dragster will debut at the NHRA Summit Racing Equipment Nationals in Norwalk, June 23-25.
The Dayton Superior-sponsored team will be one of two dragsters owned by Anthony Dicero Racing; Dicero’s second car is sponsored by Gas Monkey Energy and driven by Alex Laughlin.
“Driving an A/Fuel Dragster is much more than getting behind the wheel and hitting the gas. To control a machine that takes you from zero to 100 miles per hour in point eight seconds, requires precision performance,” explained Dayton Superior President & CEO, Jim McRickard. “Kris is an extremely talented driver. His dedication and professionalism exemplifies Dayton Superior’s commitment to Perform with Precision, making our sponsorship a winning partnership on and off the track.”
Krabill began his racing career at age 16. In 2006, Krabill debuted in Nostalgia Funny Car and won the 2006 Goodguys Championship. In 2016, Krabill joined the ranks as only the sixth Nostalgia Funny Car driver to surpass 260 mph with his run of 5.552 seconds at 261 mph during the March Meet in Bakersfield, Calif. In addition to his record-setting run, Krabill also won the 2016 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series Nostalgia Funny Car championship.
“I am very grateful to have Dayton Superior’s support for 2017,” said Krabill. “I am proud to be a part of their team and am definitely looking forward to debuting the Dayton Superior car for the 2017 season.”
In addition to Norwalk, the Dayton Superior car will make appearances at events in Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas, and Pomona.
