Troy Coughlin

Troy Coughlin is currently atop the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series portion of the NHRA Summernationals. This weekend’s Pro Mod racing, presented by Aquaball, is the sixth of 12 events this season.

Coughlin raced a 5.772-second pass at 257.53 mph in his JEGS Mail Order ’15 Corvette.

"It's pretty exciting to be No. 1, especially in this field of cars that's here in the J&A Pro Mod Series,” Coughlin stated. “To be No. 1 is pretty stout. We're pretty excited. The last couple races have been kind of tough. We work on this thing all the time - there's a lot of labor, a lot of passion, a lot of love for this sport and it shows.”

Points leader Mike Castellana qualified 13th with a run of 5.858 at 250.18, Shane Molianari qualified second with a pass of 5.781 at 258.42 and Steven Whiteley is third with a 5.795 at 251.72.

NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Series continues Saturday at approximately 3:30 p.m. and the first round of eliminations is slated for 6 p.m.
