Wilkerson withdraws from Mile-High Nationals competition
Following a crash in the fourth qualifying session of the Mopar Mile High NHRA Nationals, Tim Wilkerson announced via press release Saturday night will not be competing in eliminations on race day.
The Levi, Ray & Shoup Ford Shelby Mustang took a sharp right turn off the starting line, crossed the center line and crashed into the wall. Wilkerson was able to walk away without injuries. After inspecting the car, the decision was made not to compete on race day.
“As of right now we are not racing,” Wilkerson said Saturday night. “We’re going to try to get our spare car from Murf McKinney and bring it to Sonoma and we will work on it there.”
Wilkerson was scheduled for race Matt Hagan in round one.
