Weekend warrior: Pritchett moonlights at Indy bracket opener
As far as Top Fuel driver Leah Pritchett is concerned, any day at the races is a good day, so while some NHRA Pros prefer to spend their rare off weekends at the beach or the golf course, Pritchett is perfectly content to spend a day bracket racing at her home track, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis.
Pritchett and her husband, Gary, who works as a car chief on Steve Torrence’s Capco Top Fuel dragster, recently acquired what they call their “fun car” -- a supercharged nine-second Shelby Mustang that also happens to be street-legal. Last Sunday, the Pritchetts traded nitro for shoe polish and competed against some of the North Central Division’s best E.T. bracket racers.
