Terry McMillen makes a comeback
Terry McMillen and the Amalie Motor Oil team have been a staple on the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series tour since the 2010 season. McMillen competed in the Top Alcohol Funny Car ranks before stepping up to the nitro classes, and he made his Pro debut in 2007.
The Elkhart, Ind., resident endured some parts failures during the 2015 season that had him briefly questioning his future on tour, though the support of his fans and a long-term commitment from his sponsor has him more focused than ever on earning a spot in the NHRA Countdown to the Championship playoffs. He has already reached one career milestone this season when his Rob Wendland-tuned Amalie Motor Oil XtermiGator dragster reached the final round for the first time at the historic Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals. McMillen currently sits No. 8 in the Mello Yello standings.
