Jeff Hefler won his third Summit Racing Series national championship at the Auto Club NHRA Finals. Division 4 champ Hefler, who also won national championships in 2010 and 2013, drove his Fort Worth, Texas-based ’65 Chevy to the Sportsman victory, defeating Division 7’s Willie Hoefer and his ’94 Camaro in the final round. Hefler joined Tom Klemme as the only drivers to win three Summit National Championships when he outlasted the field in Sportsman. Hefler also won in 2010 and 2013.
