Lowes Foods has been named presenting sponsor for the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMax Dragway, April 22-24, the fifth event in the 24-race 2016 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.

As presenting sponsor, Lowes Foods will conduct marketing activities, including themed advertising and promotions. The company also will have a presence on-site at the event, including signage and display space, as well as in the race broadcast on Fox Sports 1.

“We are so excited to have Lowes Foods come onboard as the presenting sponsor for this unique event,” said Brad Gerber, NHRA vice president and chief development officer. “The NHRA Four-Wide Nationals is our only four-wide race of the season, so it’s always one of the most anticipated events of the year. We’re thrilled to start this partnership with Lowes Foods and believe they will become a huge asset to this great event.”

Lowes Foods, founded in 1954, is headquartered in North Carolina and has more than 90 stores across the Southeast. It is a true homegrown grocery store that supports local farms and businesses.

“We are thrilled to have another North Carolina-based company join the Charlotte Motor Speedway family,” said Marcus Smith, Charlotte Motor Speedway president and general manager. “I look forward to seeing the energy Lowes Foods brings to an electric atmosphere at zMAX Dragway, and as a proud supporter of Smithfield, I’ll be one of the first in line to get a bite to eat during a break in the action.”

The NHRA Four-Wide NHRA Nationals presented by Lowes Foods is an event like no other, where Top Fuel dragsters, Funny Cars, Pro Stock cars and Pro Stock Motorcycles line up across four lanes in ground-pounding competition. And the zMax Dragway, which opened in 2008, is a state-of-the-art facility and the world’s only four-lane concrete dragstrip.

Weekend packages for the Lowes Foods NHRA Four-Wide Nationals start at just $99. Kids 13 and under get in free with an adult ticket purchase. To buy tickets, camping and race-day upgrades, fans can call the speedway ticket office at 800-455-FANS (3267) or shop online at www.charlottemotorspeedway.com.
