With a father that is in the American Motorcyclist Association Hall of Fame and an older brother that is a three-time NHRA champion, Andrew Hines had some big shoes to fill when he joined the Pro Stock Motorcycle class for his first full season in 2003. More than a decade later, Andrew has done more than his fair share to uphold the family honor with five NHRA Mello Yello championships and 42 national event victories on his Screamin’ Eagle Harley Davidson V-Rod.

With a sixth championship, Hines can tie the late Dave Schultz’s record for championships and he’s also within striking distance of Schultz’s record of 45 national event victories. With a month off after the traditional season-opener in Gainesville, Hines will resume his quest for both records next weekend at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals presented by Lowes Foods.
