From a starting field that numbers in the thousands, the process to ultimately crown four national champions in the NHRA Summit E.T. Racing Series is well underway.

Following a random drawing hosted by NHRA announcers Brian Lohnes and Alan Reinhart, the wild card positions for the upcoming Summit E.T. Racing Series Finals have been selected.

Tony Schumacher, the winningest Top Fuel driver in NHRA history, will return to the seat of a Don Schumacher Racing Top Fuel dragster to compete at six of the remaining 2020 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, NHRA and Maple Grove Raceway have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Mopar Express Lane NHRA Nationals presented by Pennzoil.

For more than 35 years, the JEGS Allstars has assembled the top Sportsman drivers in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series to face off in a battle for individual and team honors. At the 2020 Lucas Oil NHRA Summernationals at Indianapolis, Ryan Oehler scored his first Mello Yello Drag Racing Series win, one that was 30 years in the making

From an engine that wouldn't fire in the pits before eliminations to a broken main stud after round one, it was a wild day for Tommy Johnson Jr. and the MD Anderson Cancer Center Funny Car team at the Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals presented by Pennzoil.

The Funny Car class was born in the late 1960s and surged to popularity in the 1970s. Offering not just wild, tire-smoking action but also a variety of body styles cloaked in colorful paint jobs and memorable names, they quickly became fan favorites from coast to coast. 

Randal Andras scored his second win of the season in the Mickey Thompson Tires Top Fuel Harley Series, defeating Jay Turner Racing teammate Tii Tharpe in the final round of the Dodge NHRA Indy Nationals presented by Pennzoil.

NHRA officials have announced that the Lucas Oil Drag Racing series event scheduled on Aug. 14-16 at Cecil County Dragway has been cancelled for pandemic-related reasons.

The NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway, scheduled for Aug. 28-30, has been canceled due the current COVID-19 pandemic. NHRA made this difficult decision after exhaustive deliberation with track representatives, health officials and government authorities.
