It took George Stassi 50 years to finally win his first NHRA national event, but he quickly found out that it was worth the wait.

Shawn Cowie in Alcohol Dragster and Shane Westerfield in Alcohol Funny Car led the list of winners at the NHRA Pacific Division opener at Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park, the first of seven events in the Pacific Division competition.
