The 2018 California Hot Rod Reunion presented by Automobile Club of Southern California completed competition at Auto Club Famoso Raceway on Sunday crowning not only event winners but also many champions in the NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series.

Jordan Vandergriff will make the jump to the professional NHRA Drag Racing ranks in 2019 as the driver of a Bob Vandergriff Racing Top Fuel dragster with primary sponsorship from D-A Lubricant Company and its PennGrade Motor Oil brand .

The annual NHRA Breakfast at the SEMA Show will feature drag racing legends Kenny Bernstein, Joe Amato, Don “The Snake” Prudhomme, and John Force, drivers who have been on the road to “Fifty Years of the NHRA Gatornationals.” 

Drag racing photographer Ron Lewis, who’s been shooting at the drags since he was a teenager in the mid-1960s and continues to be a regular presence at Mello Yello Series events, is sharing with us some of the thousands of his vintage drag racing pics. This week: the 1960s.

The NHRA Motorsports Museum’s 27th annual California Hot Rod Reunion presented by Automobile Club of Southern California returns to Auto Club Famoso Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif. for a thrilling three-day gathering on Oct. 19-21.

Steve Torrence, Ron Capps, Erica Enders, and Eddie Krawiec finished the opening day of the NHRA Carolina Nationals presented by Wix Filters as the low qualifiers in Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle.

For the third straight NHRA Mello Yello Countdown torace, there was a different points leader by the end of the event in Pro Stock Motorcycle. After winning last weekend in Dallas, former class champ LE Tonglet hopes that is a trend he can break starting this weekend.
