It was a record-setting event with the first ever run over 330 mph by a Funny Car. On race day, Doug Kalitta took the Top Fuel win with an epic performance on the race track, Funny Car was a match-up of rivals John Force and Whit Bazemore, while Pro Stock was won by a young Jason Line and Pro Stock Motorcycle was taken by Shawn Gann.
