Crew Chief Confidential

NHRA reporter Lewis Bloom caught up with the four winning NHRA Summernationals crew chiefs after a very hot weekend of racing in Englishtown.

Pro Stock Motorcycle tuner Tim Klungian has had the hot hand so far in 2017 with three combined wins by teammates LE Tonglet and Jerry Savoie. Rob Downing gave Greg Anderson his eighth race win in the Garden State, his most successful event on tour. The new trio of tuners for Jack Beckman -- Neil Strasbaugh, John Medlin and Dean Antonelli -- scored their first win of the season and Beckman’s first ever in Englishtown, which also earned him a spot in the Traxxas Shootout. Finally, it was Bobby Lagana Jr. for Richard Hogan and driver Steve Torrence with a huge win at his home track and the first one ever for Torrence in a final round over friend Antron Brown.
