Drag & Drive Exhibition
A few special “Drag and Drive” eight-car exhibitions are set to take place as part of the 2024 NHRA Mission Foods National Event Schedule.
When it comes to trends in drag racing that have helped evolve, advance, and grow participation in the sport, few have had the modern effect of Drag & Drive competition. Effectively the highest form of street legal drag racing, there are dozens of events around the country that give prospective competitors options from coast to coast.
So what is Drag & Drive? It’s the grand combination of a road trip adventure and a drag race. Rules differ and classes differ but the concept is all the same. Competitors must have street-legal, registered, and insured cars that are legal for road-going use. At a Drag & Drive event, competitors are not allowed to tow their cars between tracks, often a distance of hundreds of miles. Driving the cars on the street to prove their road viability is oftentimes harder than going full throttle down the strip.
The NHRA supports the drag-and-drive concept and its positive message of participation and safe road-going operation. In so many ways, it is a throwback to the old days. We’re happy to welcome drag-and-drive competitors to the following races to showcase their cars and performance in front of big crowds!
