WATCH: Deric Kramer rolls to victory against Erica Enders in Route 66 NHRA Nationals Pro Stock final
Deric Kramer did not have the quickest or fastest Pro Stock car at Route 66 Raceway, but he was good when he had to be and picked up his third-career national event win and first of the season after two-time Mello Yello champion Erica Enders fouled in the final round. Kramer and his KB Racing-powered American Ethanol Camaro would have been tough to beat regardless with a 6.537 that covered Enders' 6.571.
Kramer, who entered the Chicago race clinging to a spot in the top ten, gave himself some breathing room with a strong performance that included wins against Rodger Brogdon, Matt Hartford, and Alex Laughlin. All four of Kramer's round wins came at the expense of Elite Performance cars.
Enders was also racing in her first final of the season following wins against Val Smeland, Richard Freeman, and a holeshot win against low qualifier Greg Anderson in the semi's. Enders has now been to 47 final rounds and has appeared in 503 elimination rounds.
