Richmond Funny Car results: Q1

Ron Capps and crew chief Rahn Tobler, hot off of their win two weeks ago in Atlanta, kept that winning NAPA Brakes livery past its one-race special-edition  expiration plan and blasted down the warm track to a 3.927 to lead the field after Q1.

Ron Capps and crew chief Rahn Tobler, hot off of their win two weeks ago in Atlanta, kept that winning NAPA Brakes livery past its one-race special-edition  expiration plan and blasted down the warm track to a 3.927 to lead the field after Q1.

John Force, sporting a Hurculiner livery on his Peak Chevy for this event, grabbed the No. 2 spot with a 3.971 while reigning world champ J.R. Todd had the only other car in the threes with a 3.978 from his DHL Toyota.

Tim Wilkerson also unveiled a new paint scheme, his celebrating the 40th business anniversary of his longtime sponsor, Levi, Ray & Shoup but shut off early on his opening lap.
