Bristol winner Bob Tasca III stretched his win streak to six straight rounds to highlight the second round of Funny Car racing.

Tasca’s Ford powered to a 3.993 after Paul Lee red-lighted and earned lane choice by a thousandth of a second for a rematch with John Force of their Bristol final round. Force eked out a win by .003-second over J.R. Todd with a 3.994 pass.

Tasca will take on Topeka runner-up Jack Beckman, who defeating Shawn Langdon with a 4.01. Beckman will take on teammate Tommy Johnson Jr., who advanced with a 4.05 after low qualifier Ron Capps inexplicably smoked the tires after five straight three-second passes.

Three of the semifinal foursome have become familiar to NHRA fans as Jack Beckman has been to the semifinals or beyond at the last three races, including a runner-up in Topeka; Force had a pair of semifinal finishes in a row before last weekend’s runner-up; Johnson had a win in Chicago and a semifinal in Topeka. Tasca is the outlier, having only three round wins in the seven races preceding his Bristol victory.

Semifinal pairings (lane choice first): Jack Beckman vs. Tommy Johnson Jr.; Bob Tasca III vs. John Force
