Jesse Alexandra went through a roller coaster of emotions on Saturday at the Menards NHRA Heartland Nationals presented by Minties. The racer qualfiied for the SAMTech.edu Factory Stock Showdown field on his final pass in the third qualifying session, slotting into the 13th qualifier spot, but things took a turn for the worse in the first round of eliminations. Alexandra was late hitting the gas when the bulbs dropped and got off the throttle midway down the track, but the racer got back into the gas and lost control at the top end and smacked the wall in his Chevy Camaro. 

Alexandra was assisted by the NHRA Safety Safari presented by the Auto Club of Southern California and walked away from the crash. The blue Chevy Camaro appeared to suffer major damage to the front end but the clean up time was relatively quick following the crash.
