To celebrate 35 years of world-class motorsports entertainment, the Texas Motorplex will be hosting Friday Night Live on Oct. 16 during the AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals. 

Former Division 2 Services Coordinator Cody Savage has been named the NHRA’s Southeast Division Director (Division 2), serving NHRA member tracks in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama, and Puerto Rico. 

The NHRA AAA Texas FallNationals, Oct. 14-18 at Texas Motorplex, is one of the last four races of the NHRA Mello Yello Series season and this year, and along with the traditional playoff atmosphere, the event will feature additional classes.

It’s been a dominant stretch for the Torrence family at Texas Motorplex, and the father-son Top Fuel duo hope to keep it going at the upcoming 35th annual AAA Texas NHRA FallNationals, Oct. 14-18.

On a special weekend that saw him share the winner’s circle with his son, Matt, multi-time world champ Rickie Smith raced to his first win of the 2020 E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series season at the Amalie Motor Oil Gatornationals.

It took two race cars to do it, but Ron Capps extended the Don Schumacher Racing win streak in the Funny Car class to ten races following his final round win over Tim Wilkerson at the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals.

News and notes from the final day of eliminations at the 51st annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals at historic Gainesville Raceway.

For the first time in his career, Ryan Oehler is in contention for the Mello Yello Pro Stock Motorcycle championship and he’s determined to do everything possible to make that a reality. That mentality helps explain why Oeher and his crew would load their spare bike into the back of a pick up truck on Saturday night and make a 220 mile round trip drive to Orlando Speed World Dragway just to break in a couple of Mickey Thompson tires.

Clay Millican, Matt Hagan, Deric Kramer, and Matt Smith qualified No. 1 on Saturday and will now try to finish the job by winning the 51st annual Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals.

You can’t keep a good man down, especially if he happens to compete in the E3 Spark Plugs NHRA Pro Mod Series. That certainly applies to Steve Matusek and Kris Thorne, who are both racing this weekend in Gainesville less than three weeks after destroying race cars in separate crashes at the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA U.S. Nationals.
