Perkinson, Schmidt bring new Pro Stock sponsors to Indy
Wednesday, August 31, 2011

NHRA Pro Stock racers Buddy Perkinson and Steve Schmidt each will bring new sponsors to the 57th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil.

Perkinson, recently released from the Cunningham Motorsports team, bounced right back and will be piloting a Mustang owned by Mark Wolfe of Marysville, Wash., with power supplied by Larry Morgan Racing. The car is a '10 Rick Jones Pro Stock Mustang that was originally owned by Frank Gugliotta. Race management will be supplied by Larry Morgan Racing, and Perkinson Racing's Christian Thompson and Randy Perkinson will be crewing the car for the event.

Stepping up to help sponsor Perkinson Racing for this event is Irvine, Calif.-based Wealth Management Strategies/AXA Advisors.

“We have been involved in a lot of different motorsport sponsorships and are really looking forward to supporting Buddy Perkinson's up-and-coming career in NHRA Pro Stock,” said the company’s Brent Koch. “Our company does a lot of business-to-business networking, and the NHRA national events provide a great environment for building awareness of our products and services.”

Steve Schmidt Racing will receive sponsorship support from Family Leisure to compete at the event. Family Leisure sells everything from hot tubs, patio furniture, and home-entertainment centers to swimming pools and “anything that brings family and fun together.”

“Family Leisure will be a tremendous marketing partner with Steve Schmidt Racing,” said Schmidt, “and we look forward to welcoming them to the NHRA Drag Racing family.”
