Holley inks three-year deal to continue as sponsor of NHRA Hot Rod Reunion
The highly successful partnership between Holley Performance Products and the NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion will continue for at least three more years. Thanks to a new deal, Holley will remain the title sponsor of the popular event, retaining the naming rights. Holley has been the Reunion’s main sponsor since it first came to Bowling Green, Ky., six years ago. This year’s edition is set for Father’s Day Weekend, June 13-15 at Beech Bend Park.

“It’s always been called the Holley NHRA National Hot Rod Reunion and I’m happy to report that it will continue to be so named for the future,” said Tony Thacker, of the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum, producers of the Reunion. “Holley is headquartered in Bowling Green and the ideal sponsor for the Reunion. I’m glad our relationship continues to grow.”
Beckman on pole for NHRA Circle Track Challenge
With just a week remaining before the starting lineup is determined for the NHRA Circle Track Challenge at Bristol Motor Speedway May 17, “Fast Jack" Beckman is sitting pretty in the pole position. The lineup for the Saturday night race will be determined by fan voting. Beckman currently leads with 28 percent of all votes cast.
National DRAGSTER Madison Pro coverage now online
National DRAGSTER's Pro coverage from the O'Reilly NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Castrol in Madison has been added to the online library in the members section, allowing members an early preview of this week's issue. NHRA technical reminder: battery location
The NHRA Tech Department has issued a technical reminder to racers in all Stock and Super Stock classes regarding battery location. All batteries must be in their original location or may be relocated to the trunk per the NHRA Rulebook. Excerpts from the Rulebook are contained in this article.
Consecutive round-win streak is latest of Manzo’s accomplishments
Eleven -time Top Alcohol Funny Car world champ Frank Manzo recently shattered Tony Bartone’s record of 37 consecutive round-wins by increasing his total to 39 and counting. Manzo has driven his Lucas Oil Products Chevy Monte Carlo to six national and five divisional wins since his last loss which occurred during the second round at the Norwalk event on July 1, 2007.

Melanie Troxel, who's in her first year behind the wheel of a Funny Car, the ProCare Rx Dodge, has joined NHRA.com's Driver Blogs to contribute to the long-running blog penned by her team owner, Mike Ashley. Read her first entry, which includes a brief overview of her season to date and a visit for one of her team's special causes.
West to tune Beckman’s Valvoline Funny Car entry
Johnny West has been named crew chief on the Valvoline/Mail Terminal Services Dodge Charger R/T Funny Car driven by Jack Beckman. Phoenix native West replaces Rick Cassel and will work with tuner Tommy DeLago on the Valvoline/MTS car out of Don Schumacher Racing's Brownsburg, Ind., race shop.
