Stars Jesse Williams, who plays legendary Don “the Snake” Prudhomme, and Richard Blake, who plays the equally iconic Tom “the Mongoose” McEwen, and their cast mates walked the red carpet with their real-life alter egos before an impressive turnout of media from both Hollywood and the racing world.
In addition to “the Snake” and “the Mongoose,” drag racing royalty was represented by the likes of Roland Leong, Ed Pink, Tommy Ivo, Bob Brandt, Dale Armstrong, Linda Vaughn, and Ron Capps, among others. Capps plays the part of Lou Baney, an early backer for McEwen, in the film.
After the red carpet walk, the stars from both sides of the camera and a large contingent of media and drag racing personalities, including NHRA President Tom Compton, adjourned to the theater for an exclusive premiere showing.
